Chad Austin
Mr. Austin is currently in his third year as assistant director at Warren
Central. He
serves as the director of the Symphonic band and the instructor of percussion at
all grade levels. Mr. Austin is a native of Forest, Mississippi where he
graduated from Forest High School. His college career began at East Central
Community College where he was a member of the “Wall O Sound” Drumline and
Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Austin continued his education at Mississippi State
University where he acquired his bachelor’s degree in music education. While at
Mississippi State, he was a member of the Famous Maroon Band, Wind Ensemble, and
Percussion Ensemble. Under his direction, the marching percussion at Warren
Central has consistently earned superior ratings. The drumline also finished in
2nd place at the 2006 Pearl Marching Invitational. Also under his direction,
both the Concert and Symphonic bands have earned superior ratings at
festival. In the spring of 2007, Mr. Austin served as the percussion coordinator
and conductor for the 2007 Mississippi All-State Concert Band Percussion
Ensemble. His professional affiliations include the Mississippi Bandmasters
Association and educator artist endorser for Innovative Percussion Inc. Mr. Austin currently resides in Pearl,
Mississippi with his wife Renee and their two cats Oliver and Annie. Mr. Austin is very excited
to be a part of the "Big Blue" band family.
