Chad Austin
Mr. Austin is currently in his sixth year as assistant director at Warren Central. He serves as the director of the Symphonic band and the instructor of percussion at all grade levels. Mr. Austin is a native of Forest, Mississippi where he graduated from Forest High School. His college career began at East Central Community College where he was a member of the “Wall O Sound” Drumline and Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Austin continued his education at Mississippi State University where he acquired his bachelor’s degree in music education. While at Mississippi State, he was a member of the Famous Maroon Band, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. Under his direction, the marching percussion at Warren Central has earned numerous high percussion awards and superior ratings. Also under his direction, both the Concert and Symphonic bands have earned superior ratings at state and local  festivals. In the spring of 2007,2008, and 2009 Mr. Austin served as the percussion coordinator and conductor for the Mississippi All-State Concert Band Percussion Ensemble. In 2009 he served as percussion director on the staff of the Mississippi Lions All State Band. His professional affiliations include the Mississippi Bandmasters Association, Percussive Arts Society. Mr. Austin also serves as an artist for Yamaha and Innovative Percussion. Chad currently resides in Pearl, Mississippi with his wife Renee and their two pets Roscoe and Annie.
